Pam's Breast Cancer Battle

Hello everyone!

My name is Jessica and I am writing this in favor of my mom. This may come as a shock to some as my family tends to be a little private, especially my mom, but my mom Pam was recently diagnosed with a type of breast cancer called triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. This type of breast cancer unfortunately cannot be treated with pills and she has to go through a projected 6 months of chemotherapy, surgery, and then 3 more months of chemotherapy and radiation. Thankfully, my mom seemingly caught it very early! She has started treatment already; her first round of chemo was this week and she is so far feeling great!

Since finding a lump on her breast in early December and officially being diagnosed with breast cancer in early January and now starting chemotherapy, unfortunately the medical bills have started to add up, and my mom has also since cut her hours at work to accommodate treatment and side effects of chemo (and she has unfortunately cut her hours at her favorite hobby tennis too). We realize we have a long, hard, and expensive year ahead of us, but my mom is thankful for treatment options and hopeful for the future.
