• Since sharing my life-altering diagnosis of advanced, inoperable pancreatic adenocarcinoma with you, many have asked, "What can we do to help?" After much deliberation with family and friends, we have come to the consensus that it will be proactive for me to open a GoFundMe site.
• As I begin this experimental chemotherapy clinical trial at Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) here in Nashville starting 11/18/2019, your kind donations will assist in covering incidental and unforeseen out-of-pocket expenses such as gas, prescriptions not covered by my Medicare/ supplement plans, and meals for Robert at the cancer center.
• During this experimental clinical trial, we will be making an average of 10-12 monthly visits over the next 6 months to VICC for my chemotherapy treatments- that adds up quickly. Fortunately, we are only 30 miles away round trip. That said, we have already made 8 trips to VICC in October alone. I anticipate additional incidental expenses as I make this medical journey.
• I am truly grateful for the outpouring of love and support I have received from you all since my diagnosis. I have been completely transparent with you in the hope that I may help others to pay attention to even the vaguest of signs and symptoms, not brush them off as 'the aging process' and to seek medical attention early on to avoid a devastating diagnosis too late, as in my situation.
