Tragedy struck our North Beach neighborhood on the night of July 30, 2020 at around 2:30am, when a fire broke out in the carport of 2233 Powell Street. That night, resident of 20+ years,Pamela Uberti, 70, lost everything in her life including her van, apartment, and best friend and loyal companion, Misty, her cocker spaniel.
Pamela’s selfless and heroic actions that night saved the lives of all other residents, who, because of her, were awakened and had time to escape the 113-year-old building that was quickly incinerating. In the process of evacuating the other long-time-residents of the building, several of which over the age of 75, she was unable to locate her own loved-one, Misty, who was later rescued by firefighters and put immediately on oxygen.
For those who know Pamela, they know how kind, vivacious, and giving she truly is. That is why we are now asking for your help to return the same generosity that she shows to others. Pamela operates a small dog-walking business, and has shown immense love for each and every one of the dogs for whom she takes care, bringing them all the way to beaches like Pacifica and Morro Bay, in her van, customized to accommodate all of her furry friends.
Please help us help Pamela rebuild her life and recover after this traumatic and devastating experience that has left her homeless, without her best friend, and unable to work, as her van was integral in her ability to earn income.
In the midst of a global pandemic we know there are many causes to support, and ask that you please give whatever you can to help our good friend and San Francisco local regain her footing on the long path ahead.
Thank you for your love and support.
