It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Pamela (Orton) Papps passed away on October 2nd at the age of 49. She developed sepsis as a result of a severe kidney stone infection. Pam never gave up and never lost hope; she was a true fighter all the way to the end. A really remarkable individual who was a great friend and will be sorely missed.
Pam was a dedicated mother to two beautiful girls. She married the love of her life and best friend Steve Papps on May 9, 2023 during a small intimate wedding. Pam loved to make people laugh. Pam remembered birthdays, anniversaries and special days.
She had an outstanding sense of humor which a lot of us got to see with her special Facebook and Tik Tok messages. She would spend hours looking up memes, jokes and videos to share with her friends. Making each one relevant to the person she sent it to. She would record a personal voice messages and also send those to her friends. Being able to talk across the miles without tiring her thumbs out texting. She loved to surprise her friends and family with special gifts.
Pam’s career at Safeway was a loved one and she spoke of fond memories during her time there. She could be seen with a smile on her face going the extra mile helping the customers or taking the time to listen. Pam had a contagious laugh that made everyone around her smile. Her passion was animals and had many pets. She gave back to the community not only with BC SPCA but also with Boys and Girls Club and several other organizations over the years. She was an advocate for no bullying and taught her young daughter Renee to stand up for what she believes.
There have been several people reaching out asking how they can help in such a tragic situation. We have created a go fund me page to help with financial costs of the funeral and for anything else that comes up during this difficult time. Funeral arrangements are in the works.
Pam you are gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. You will truly be missed!
