Pam Mannix Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Red-headed matriarch, Pamala Mannix (Davidson), died on February, 26, 2019. Her illness was unexpected by everyone, but she passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Her family made sure to play her theme song that day, “Hard Headed Woman” by Cat Stevens, because, well, that’s what she was, and that’s why everyone loved her.
Pam left behind her husband, Tim Mannix, her daughter Mindy Thompson and her husband James, her other daughter Amanda Mannix and her husband Jimmy, and her partner-in-crime-grandson Jack Thompson. She had two children whom she’ll be seeing again in heaven, Aubrey Katherine Mannix and Jordan Davidson Mannix.
Pam was born in Scottsburg, IN on July 15, 1956 to George and Bessie Davidson. She was the baby of their nine children. She grew up in Jennings county, where she learned everything you could learn about country living: tending a garden, caring for farm animals, feeding an army with fried chicken and biscuits and gravy.
Pam graduated Jennings County High School in 1974 and married her Crothersville High School track-star boyfriend, Tim, in 1976. They were together ever since.
Pam was known for a lot of things. She was a fixer. If you had a problem, she would solve it for you. If you were short on cash and needed to pay your electric bill, she’d give you the money. If you were sick, she’d make sure you were fed and taken care of. If there was an animal that needed rescued, she’d bring it home (without always telling her husband). If you needed rescued, she’d bring you home (without always telling her husband). Nothing stood in her way of helping someone out, and on the off chance that it did, she’d bulldoze through it. She passed along those qualities to her kids.
In lieu of flowers, her family wanted to start this memorial fund so that they could help pass along her goodwill to others in need. If Pam ever helped you out of a bind, we'd love to hear your story, even if you aren't able to donate. Please post a comment or a photo.
