One of Pam's favorite things to do was camp. One of her favorite places, Lake Cachuma. And her favorite event was the Annual Lake Cachuma Fishing Derby. In memory of Pam, would like to raise funds for the Neal Taylor Nature Center at Cachuma Lake in order to have a tree dedicated to her. The Nature Center is very involved in supporting the Derby and also providing workshops and programs for kids, families and visitors. Our goal is the raise $5,000 for the tree. Funds go directly to the Neal Taylor Nature Center at Cachuma Lake along with any additional funding.
Some might ask why we called Pam "Peanut Pam"? Was she nuts? A little. Did she like peanuts? A lot - especially at Dodger games. She was known as Peanut Pam for passing out peanuts at Lake Cachuma for the annual fishing derby awards ceremony. She packaged up peanuts to pass out during the derby one year and it just took. People were nuts about it! A few bags turned into 10, then 20, then 100's. She passed them out with a huge smile to fellow anglers and enjoyed every moment. She loved kids and would involve them in the peanut packing process and also handing them out. With each bag of of peanuts came the special love and care that Pam put into them. Her love was contagious.
