Pals Day... We're in this together xx
Donation protected
As you know, back in January of 2020 our dear friend Alison "Pals" Day was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. From early on it was clear that this was a very aggressive strain. She underwent very intensive radiotherapy and chemo therapy and she also had major surgery.
In spite of the treatment and the surgery, scans showed that the cancer had spread. Unfortunately her immune system was compromised during the treatment and so going forward further chemo and radiotherapy is not an option. Similarly, she is not eligible for immunotherapy treatment here in Australia and so she is left with limited options.
There is the possibility of getting access to US drugs that are not readily available in Australia. Her oncologist is working tirelessly in an effort to secure these drugs but as they are not on the approved Australian treatment list, they are extremely expensive.
That's where we, her friends can help. Life can be cruel and it's fair to say that Ali has been dealt the cruelest of blows. The doctors are suggesting it's not really about a cure at this stage (although we are praying for a miracle) - rather, it's about doing anything and everything to prolong her time with her darling daughters Skye and Mathilda.
We need you to think about your friendship with Pals. We need you to think about what she means to you and how your kind donation can buy her that precious commodity.... time.
I ask you to dig deep, be generous, be compassionate and say a prayer for our friend.
We love you Pals
