For the third time in four years, I, Brian Hadad, have defeated Richard Cross in our annual bet for in-state sports superiority. I know that Richard will make a lot of noise about how he's happy to lose this bet if it means his team is in the College Football Playoff, so I have to push his buttons a little more to make him feel the pain of defeat.
Of course, Richard will have to don the maroon and white of Mississippi State on July 16 at the annual Palmer Home Radiothon, but we must go further. A year ago, Richard made a small donation to The Grove Collective in my name, effectively making me a member of Ole Miss's NIL efforts. On that day, I vowed vengeance, so today I announce this fundraiser where I ask all of you to give so that Richard can help Mississippi State.
All proceeds will be split 50/50, half to the State Excellence Fund in Richard's name, half to the Palmer Home. I hope that we can make a sizeable donation to both funds. I look forward to learning the new rules of next year's competition, as I am sure Richard will change them following defeat yet again. Thank you for your support, and Hail State!
