Palm Desert YMCA Flag Football Team "FLEX"

Hi, my name is Devin and I am the head coach of the Palm Desert YMCA 10u Flag Football Flex Team. We just competed in the 2023 Los Angeles Rams Regional NFL Flag tournament that recently took place in Huntington Beach, CA on Sunday November 12, 2023. There was 8 teams in our division and after a pool play of 3 games only the top 4 would advance to playoffs where it would be a single game elimination. We won our first 2 games and ended up losing the 3rd game to a undefeated team who put up 60 points against the first 2 opponents. We ended up losing to them 27-12 and after the game our kids were feeling defeated and tired from the 3 previous games. After that game we learned that we qualified for the playoffs and were the 3rd seed. Before our first playoff game started, we talked with our team and let them know we have to show up and play our hearts out if we want to have a chance at winning this tournament. We got them all fired up and told them to believe in themselves as they have the talent to win this whole thing. Our first playoff game we beat a very strong team 12-6 and it was a close battle. Next came the Championship game and it is against the team that beat us in the 3rd game. We came out strong and fired up as our team knew what was at stake. The winner of each division earns a spot at the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl NFL Flag Tournament in Orlando, FL in early February. In the Championship game our boys showed up and we ended up shutting them down with a final score of 12-0. It was a sight to see as are whole team and families celebrated with each other. They all worked so hard for the 5 games and they deserved to experience an amazing feeling like this. With the tournament win they earned Championship Rings!

We win and lose as a team and every player contributed throughout the day to help us win the 2023 Los Angeles Rams Regional NFL Flag 10u Tournament. Our team consists of 10 players from the Coachella Valley who have been playing together for the last few years including multiple sports.

Now our team gets a chance to compete in this upcoming tournament against all the winners from each Regional Tournament across the United States. We are asking for donations to help our players and families get to Orlando, FL to compete and have a chance to WIN this whole tournament. Since we are coming from California we have airfare to Florida, hotels for 5 nights each family, and rental cars that we have to book.

This is a once in lifetime trip for our team as they will get a chance to compete against the best teams in the United States and also go to the NFL Pro Bowl game which takes place on Sunday February 4th, 2024.
