Palliative care for our Mac

Hi, my name is Marissa.

My family and Myself have unfortunately had the worst news possible for our youngest fur baby.

He has been diagnosed with bone cancer.

He has a tumour growing from his eye socket. It is growing into his jaw and behind his eye.

Unfortunately, it has metastasised to his lung.

He is the softest and most loving boy and we are completely devastated.

There really is nothing more that DWR can possibly do for him other than manage his quality of life.

He needs palliative care to help relieve his pain and ensure he can live as comfortably as possible until we have to let him go.

He is insured and has already had multiple tests and surgeries to get to this point. His insurance allowance has been used and as a family we have pulled funds from everything we possibly can. We don’t want to have to let him go when he is still full of life but the pain he is in means he will require multiple pain medications and palliative radiation therapy to keep him comfortable and able to eat.

Sadly, we need to ask for help. I know there are so many dog mums and dads that wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

The shock and pure horror we are facing is excruciating.

Anyone that has had the pleasure of meeting Mac knows just how precious he is.

We know everyone has their own struggles, but anything you can give towards Mac’s care will be appreciated.

We just want more time with him. More kisses, more snuggles, more joy and laughter.
