After Palisades Fire: Safe Space Needed Before Baby #2

Dear Friends and Community,

We are Virgil & Mirko, Ver & Norie, Jenn & Glenn and Dan & Lynn. We are reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for your support for Veronica (our sister and daughter), Ian (our son) and their one-year old son Tommy during a time of unimaginable difficulty.

Unfortunately, Veronica, Ian and Tommy have been displaced by the devastating Palisades fire. Just two years ago, Veronica and Ian lovingly built their dream home—a sanctuary filled with love, laughter and a warm welcome for all who visited. It was a place where they graciously hosted family and friends and created countless memories. While their home still stands, the damage from the fire has left it uninhabitable.

As they prepare to welcome Tommy’s little brother this July, they are facing incredible challenges, including:

1. Finding temporary housing where they can bring their Tommy and a second baby into a safe, clean environment.

2. Replacing essential belongings, including baby supplies, clothing, furniture like cribs, high chairs, and strollers many of which are now toxic or unusable due to smoke damage.

3. Covering moving expenses and furnishing a new rental home and other relocation needs.

This journey is overwhelming, but your support can make all the difference. Whether through a donation, big or small, or simply by sharing their story, you can help ease the financial and emotional burdens they’re carrying, giving them the stability they need to rebuild their lives.

This isn’t the first time they’ve faced tragedy—and we know they have the strength to get through this too. But it will take a community to help them move forward.

If you’re local, there are other meaningful ways to help. Offering your time—whether babysitting Tommy, dog-sitting Barkley, caring for their rabbit Bun Bun or even running errands—as well as donating items of use can also make a huge difference.
