Palisades Pizza Family Needs Your Help

Hello, my name is Jessica and I truly appreciate you taking the time to read about my dear friends Bill and Teddi Bandt, and their story of Palisades Pizza.

Bill and Teddi began their dream of having a family-owned restaurant nearly 40 years ago. They worked and learned about the industry until they were able to start Palisades Pizza. While the business itself was located in Pacific Palisades, the Bandts needed to live where housing was more affordable, which meant daily commutes of several hours just driving to and from work. They would often go separately as Bill and Teddi juggled raising a family while also running a business. Bill, Teddi, and Chris were well known to the Palisades community, as they truly cared about their customers. They provided more than pizza – they provided friendship and a connection to those they served. They overcame many obstacles through the years, especially with the advent of online ordering, meal delivery services, and – of course – the COVID pandemic which saw many businesses fold. They survived it all – until Tuesday – when the devastating Palisades fire ripped through the town. Along with the homes of so many of their clientele, their business building was also a casualty. Their restaurant burned to the ground. Now in their 60s, the Bandts watched their dream and their livelihood taken away by the flames. Due to age and medical issues which have surfaced in recent years, rebuilding is not an option for them either financially or physically. It is a painful decision, and it brings with it the uncertainty of what their future holds. We are asking for donations to help them cover the loss of income, the loss of equity in their business that they were counting on for their retirement, and current medical bills. These are folks who have worked hard and just need assistance as they navigate the road ahead to determine what they can do.
