A very very close friend, Brett, and his girlfriend Autumn, recently lost EVERYTHING in the Palisades Fire. It's unimaginable the burden that one has to deal with to overcome that level of loss. I met Brett back in 2012 while at college, and have been close friends ever since. He is an amazing, smart, hardworking person who is always there for his friends when they need it. I’ve recently had the pleasure of meeting his girlfriend, and quickly realized that she is a sweet, selfless, caring person. There are no words and no act that can fix things, and it’s a struggle to consider what, if anything, an individual can do to tangibly help. I'm hoping that some financial assistance from friends and strangers alike can, at a bare minimum, help them get back on their feet, cover costs that emergency aid won’t, and help them begin to rebuild and reestablish their lives. They expect nothing, but anything helps.
