On Tuesday, my aunt, Donna Chadwick, and cousins, Fiona Nettleship, Jackson Nettleship, and Kaelan Nettleship, tragically lost their home to the Palisades fire. They evacuated with what little they could carry, never imagining it would be the last time they’d see their home. This home, purchased with the loving support of my grandparents, was meant to be my aunt’s safe haven. Over the years, she poured so much love into it, running a small massage therapy business out of her home and regularly teaching classes at the Palisades YMCA. The Palisades and its community are truly her entire life.

Born and raised in Sullivan Canyon, my aunt has deep roots in this area. Donna and her three children, Kaelan, Fiona and Jackson all graduated from Pali High and have a strong connection to the community. Losing their home has been devastating, not just materially but emotionally as well. Thankfully everyone, including their three dogs and cat, are safe, but the road to recovery is long.

Right now, my aunt and her family need financial support to begin restarting their life. Every donation—big or small—makes a difference in helping them move forward during this incredibly challenging time.
