Palisades Fire: Help our Mom rebuild her life
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,
Our family is reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help. Our mom, Sue Caldwell, lost her home in the Palisades Fire. That house was our childhood home and my mom’s home for 30 years. Aside from forming so many core memories as a family there, as a widow this community was a lifeline that she depended on, her best friends lived across the street, her whole way of life revolved around this place.
Due to the swift and chaotic nature of the destruction, she was unable to get any of her belongings out of the house before evacuation, and thus lost everything in the flames. This means no clothes, no family photos, no essentials. If you know my mom you know that she is never one to impose on anyone, but right now she is very overwhelmed by the situation.
Adding to all of this, in August of 2024 State Farm cancelled my Mom's insurance and she was forced to use a California Fair plan as a last resort which has extremely limited coverage and does not cover her accommodations before rebuilding.
As a family we’re doing everything we can to help her feel loved and supported. The funds from this will go directly toward helping her with rent and replacing the essentials (clothes, food, etc.) she needs to move forward and get back on her feet. Anything and everything helps, a donation, sharing this page, or even just sending positive messages her way. We deeply appreciate everyone’s support in this tragic time for us and the Palisades. We will get through this and rebuild with the strength of our community.
