We at Palestra Group are sending out a REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE to all of our Law Enforcement brothers and sisters. We are grateful for the secure jobs and benefits we work so hard for and understand it is also our duty to assist those who need help. We at Palestra Group humbly come to you with hat in hand to request donations for the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-Day Community Service Service Center who runs a food bank in one of NYC's hardest hit zip codes by the COVID-19 virus.
We are not affiliated with the food but traveling past it last week I noticed that the line for individuals waiting for food stretched around the block. The line was comprised of approximately 400 people, of all races and ages. They were young women, couples, construction workers, food service workers elderly and families with strollers waiting for hours. I was so taken back that I stopped and asked the status of the food bank. I was informed that these individuals wait on line hoping to get a ticket to redeem for a week's worth of food and many are turned away.
The coordinator also said that they were running out of their food reserves and were in desperate need of food donations. Myself and other members of the Palestra Team were able to provide $500.00 worth of food purchased from Restaurant Depot which we donated to the food bank. Unfortunately, they were not able to service the community this Monday because they had run out of food. They reopened today with the meager donations we had provided and along with some others. Since the virus they are attempting to provide food and provisions for more than 300 families twice a week and families are still coming according to the staff.
Palestra Group International is a Law Enforcement Training Company providing Criminal Suppression Training Courses such as Concealed Compartment Training, Basic Narcotics Officer Training, Drug Recognition and Identification, Undercover Operator Training, Firearms Trafficking and Residential Concealment Training.
To those First Responders who are blessed and fortunate enough to be able to donate $20.00 to this noble cause, Palestra Group WILL WAIVE THE TUITION FEE of any upcoming training course up to $99.00 as a thank you. However, any donation is greatly appreciated to feed out hungry neighbors.
100% of the funds donated will be used to purchase provisions that will be delivered to the food bank by PGI staff.
