Palestinian Student Pursuing Master's Degree in Barcelona

Dear friends, family, and kind people,

My name is Basil Yaseen, and I am reaching out to you with a heart full of hope and excitement. This year, I have been offered the incredible opportunity to pursue a Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, and Maritime Business at the prestigious Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain.

Ever since I graduated in Marketing from Birzeit University in occupied Palestine, I have been passionately learning about the field of supply chain management and logistics. For the past five years, I have been working as a salesman for Palco, one of the leading consumer goods companies in Palestine. Working at Palco has given me valuable hands-on experience. However, to truly make a difference in this field and contribute to the development my community as well as the Palestinian economy, which is severely affected by Israel's occupation, I need to further deepen my knowledge and skills through pursuing advanced studies.

The master's program at Universitat Pompeu Fabra is known for its excellence and innovative approach. It will equip me with the cutting-edge tools and insights necessary to tackle the complex challenges of the global supply chain and maritime industries. More importantly, it will enable me to bring back valuable expertise to Palestine, where such knowledge is crucial for economic growth and stability. It will also positively impact the Palestinian community in various ways, including economic empowerment which can lead to business expansion, which in turn creates job opportunities for the local community. This can help reduce unemployment rates, which is currently over 30%, and provide stable income sources for many families. The ongoing occupation of Palestine significantly impacts the development of supply chain management, and the country currently faces a significant lack of expertise in logistics, supply chain, and maritime business, making this opportunity even more critical for the development of my community and economy.

However, pursuing this dream comes with significant financial challenges. The total cost for tuition, accommodation, and living expenses in Barcelona is 31,000 Euros. Currently, I have managed to save 11,000 Euros through personal savings and contributions. This leaves me with a funding gap of 20,000 Euros, which I need to raise to make this educational journey possible. Here’s a breakdown of my expenses:
