In less than three short weeks, 145 homeless individuals will be permanently moved out of Palco Marsh (behind the Bayshore Mall). While some around Eureka wonder how this impending action will affect our community, there are organizations serving on the front-lines of this upcoming transition, providing more beds, showers, food and space for the people who need a little more time establishing a permanent housing situation. In response to the need of these ministries serving our neighborhoods, the faith-based community of Eureka is partnering with the Betty Kwan Chinn Day Center, St. Vincent de Paul and the Eureka Rescue Mission (including the Women and Children’s Center) to bring immediate relief to this situation.  Without these ministries, many homeless individuals and families would be left without hope.

As we consider the words of Christ, compelling us to feed the hungry, clothe the needy, give water to the thirsty, care for the sick and even visit those who disrupt the peace (Matthew 25), please take a few minutes to consider how you, your family, your small group, your network and your church can partner with these ministries. We would like to meet the goal of raising at least $7,000 before May 2nd. The funds will be distributed as follows:

75% will go to the Betty Kwan Chinn Day Center and St. Vincent de Paul
