Paisley's Accident
Donation protected
At around lunchtime today, two days before Christmas, 2020 struck again. While out for a typical puppy romp through the snow, Paisley dashed into the road at exactly the wrong time, and was struck in the head by an SUV. I will spare you all the pictures, but she will almost certainly lose an eye, and internal bleeding is a major concern at this point. She is currently at CAVES in Concord where the scans alone are estimated to be in the $3,000- $5,000 range. Treatment for the following 2 days, including surgery and observation, are currently estimated at another $3,000- $5,000. We are hoping for lower numbers, but need to be realistic. As many of you know, Ben and Kathy love their dogs like children. Many of you may recall when Penny was struck by a UPS driver. Thanks to dozens of you who donated, despite losing a leg, Penny has been able to continue being the loyal, spoiled companion she always was. For both Kathy and Paisley's sake, we are hoping for a Christmas miracle. While having some of the initial costs covered via Care Credit, we are nowhere close to covering the likely outcome of this bill. Asking for help is never fun, especially two days before Christmas. That being said, the fact that Paisley is a part of their family cannot be understated. In the spirit of Christmas, let's come together to bring Paisley home with her family in the very best shape possible. I cannot think of a better Christmas gift to give. Merry Christmas, God Bless, and let's keep them in our prayers. Thank you everyone.
