Help Manifest Painters Grove

Dear Friends, Family, Artists, and Art Lovers,

In a world often overshadowed by chaos, I invite you to pause, take a deep breath, and step into an idea—a place called Painter's Grove.

I'm Chad Parsons, a theatre maker and artist, and today I'm reaching out to all of you, the dreamers and supporters, to be a part of something "delightfully different".

Chad as "The Mad Hatter" (Boston / Philadelphia)

Directing "The Witches" at UNCG as part of my time earning my MFA in Theatre for Youth.

The Dream: Painter's Grove is not just a place; it's a transformative playground where artists, creatives, and kindred spirits can come together to collaborate, create, and ReNew on a 25-acre agricultural preservation nestled in the heart of Kutztown, PA.

The Roots of Inspiration: The Grove weaves its roots deep into my family's century-old farm, particularly on my mother's side - Sandra Ellen Painter (Parsons). It all started with my great-uncle Nelson, a soul in search of a place to replenish his cup and cultivate joy and love. He found it in what my brother and I grew up knowing as "The Farm," a place that holds a special spot in our hearts now more than ever.

A Year of Reconnection: Over the past year, I had the privilege of caretaking this land and spending precious moments with my mother during her final year. As I nurtured the soil and cherished our family's legacy, I did the same with myself and rediscovered the true essence of this place. It became clear that Painter's Grove should be a testament to the deep bond between nature, creativity, and a sustainable life.

The Vision: Today, I envision this land as a hub for those seeking ReNewal through nature's embrace and the healing power of art. Painter's Grove is where open hearts and minds will learn to nurture their creativity and find balance and sustainability. It's where artists will be inspired by the whispers of the wind, the sound of the birds, or the rustle of the leaves and where families can find a ReTreat from life's busyness. The grove will become a safe space for new works and emerging creatives to immerse themselves in their work in order to inspire others to do the same.

Why We Need Your Help: To bring this dream to life, we need your support. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to begin manifesting Painters Grove. These funds will cover startup costs such as:

  • Electricity to the Stable & Ring ($3,000) Installing electric or solar panels to power the stables and the ring is essential for providing efficient energy ensuring reliable power for essential facilities at Painter's Grove.

  • Security Cameras ($2,000) Security is crucial for ensuring the safety of guests and staff, protecting property and assets, and maintaining a secure environment for the smooth operation of events and activities at Painter's Grove.

  • Research and Development ($2,000) Research and development are absolutely essential to the manifestation of Painter's Grove because they serve as the foundation for turning a vision into a reality. Thorough research and development we can ensure that the project aligns with its core values of sustainability, creativity, and environmental stewardship fine-tuning every aspect, from land management strategies to educational programs, to creating a harmonious and transformative space where artists, creatives, and nature enthusiasts can truly thrive. R&D helps us not only bring the dream to life but also ensures its longevity and positive impact on both individuals and the environment.

  • Trademarking ($1,000) Trademarks are crucial for Painter's Grove because they safeguard the identity and integrity of the project. Through trademark research and registration, we can protect the name and logo, "Painter's Grove," ensuring that it remains uniquely associated with our transformative arts and agricultural playground. This protection is vital as it prevents unauthorized use or dilution of our brand, which is built on core values of creativity, sustainability, and connection.

  • Insurance ($1,000) Insurance and permits are essential for a business like Painter's Grove to ensure legal compliance, protect against liabilities, and provide a safe, legitimate environment for its operations and participants.

  • Stipends to dedicated artists/contractors who will help bring the vision to life. ($4,000)

  • Reconstruction of the pond and stream working with the land's natural water system. ($12,000) Restoring the pond and working with the underlying well at Painter's Grove is vital for sustaining the natural ecosystem, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the property, and ensuring a reliable and eco-friendly water source for various activities.
