Hi, I’m Aimee, the founder of Painted Smiles Project. Each care package costs approximately £5 to make plus postage, and any donation, big or small, helps more than you know - particularly in these early stages to help me get started. Your donations will be used towards purchasing supplies and covering postage costs.
About Painted Smiles Project
Painted Smiles Project is a UK based project created in loving memory of my best friend Ella who sadly passed away on the 30th November 2025. Ella was a beautiful soul who believed in colour, creativity, and making people smile, even on their hardest days.
Ella often showed her love through sending handmade penpal letters to people when they were going through difficult times and that’s what we want to continue through this project. She was artistic, a lover of all things magical, and someone who found joy in lifting others up. She understood that happiness doesn’t have to be loud or perfect - sometimes it’s quiet, gentle, and arrives right when you need it most. That belief is the heart of everything we do.
We send thoughtfully curated, happy mail packages for free to people living in the UK with mental illness, chronic illness, disability or terminal illness - for the days when getting through feels heavy, when joy feels distant, or when someone simply needs to be reminded that they matter. All we ask for, if you’re in the position to do so, is a small donation to the GoFundMe page to help the project to continue to grow.
Each package is created with care, creativity, and compassion. Inside, you’ll find small comforts, artistic touches, and gentle reminders that you are not alone - because invisible battles deserve visible kindness.
This isn’t about “fixing” anything.
It’s about connection.
It’s about feeling seen.
It’s about offering a moment of light on a hard day.
Through every package sent, Ella’s love continues - spreading the happiness she gave so freely, one person at a time.
Thank you for being part of her legacy.
