You can make a difference by donating today to Sons and Daughters of Hawley Inc (S&D).
The Sons and Daughters of Hawley is currently seeking to paint the ceiling of the 1848 Meetinghouse, our home. Over the past three years we have raised money, received grants and have worked to completely refurbish the entire building, both inside and out, with the single exception of the massive 40x40 ft ceiling in the sanctuary area. Our goal is to finish that ceiling by Thanksgiving 2021. Won't you help?
A member has offered a matching $5000 challenge grant if we can raise at least $5000 more. We need a total of $22, 275 to complete the job.
The Sons and Daughters’ Bylaws state: “The purpose of this organization shall be to stimulate interest in preserving the historical buildings and sites of Hawley, to educate people about the history of Hawley, to stimulate social interaction and provide a common place for meetings and functions sponsored by the Sons and Daughters of Hawley, to preserve and display mementos and documents of historical value in Hawley, and to raise funds in support of the above activities of the society.”
With your help we have been very successful at carrying out all aspects of that mission. A crew of volunteers are in the process of sorting through the wealth of S&D mementos and history we have accumulated. Two grants have helped with this process.
Our members include anyone who lives in Hawley, has a relative (living or deceased) from Hawley, or who loves Hawley as much as we do. Our organization was founded in 1900 and only missed one annual meeting during
WW II.
If you appreciate what we do, please DONATE to support our work. Thank You.
