Pain Relief for Arthur and Finnick
Donation protected
UPDATE 1/14/25
Arthur’s dental health has improved significantly with medication and at home dental hygiene that the vet would like to postpone extractions and see if we can save the boys teeth! Arthur went in for his extractions and the vet said that his teeth had improved so much he would no longer advise full mouth extractions! Both Arthur and Finnick are now on daily antibiotics and are scheduled for follow ups! Finnick is going in for a cleaning in February and the vet is hoping we will see more improvement by that time! The journey for these boys’ dental health isn’t over but it’s looking so much better!
Thank you all so much for your help and kindness! I will be shutting down all fundraising efforts! Any funds that were donated are going to continuing vet care for the boys!
Hey y’all! My name is Eren, my Fiance Tyler and I recently took in 2 stray kittens and they came with a lot more health issues than expected! Their names are Arthur and Finnick, they’re very sweet boys and they’re settling in well! We took them to the vet to get them checked out and their teeth are in really bad shape. Initially the vet thought we might be able to get a cleaning and it would clear up, but after a few other opinions they were diagnosed with a form of stomatitis, they’re having an immune response to their teeth. Essentially they’re allergic to their teeth. They’re in a lot of pain and no matter how much plaque off, water additive, dental toys and treats, and brushing we do for them, it won’t fix the problem. Because of this both boys need full mouth extractions to help mitigate their pain and stress, this is pretty costly and comes with risks. We’ve found a vet that we trust and gave us a decent price for the service but it’s still roughly $5,700 a cat.
Tyler and I already work multiple jobs 6-7 days a week and we’re struggling to find a way to pay for the surgeries they need. We’re picking up all the extra shifts we can, we’re applying for care credit, which still wouldn’t cover the cost of both surgeries, and we’ve explored pet insurance. I’ve reached out to Chewy and I’m exploring other options. No matter what we’re going to end up in debt and to save our boys from pain it will be worth it.
I’ve set the goal high enough to cover the costs of the surgeries, transportation, and wages I’ll lose out on while taking care of the boys.
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!
