Paige's Breath of Hope at Mayo Clinic

Hi, my name is Mandy, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my niece, Paige, and her amazing guardians—my parents—who have been by her side through an incredibly difficult journey.

Since November 2024, Paige has been struggling with ongoing breathing issues. Despite seeing numerous specialists in Grand Forks and Fargo, we still don’t have a clear diagnosis. Her condition remains a mystery, and as you can imagine, not having answers has been emotionally and financially draining.

Right now, Paige is covered by Medicaid in North Dakota, but that coverage may end on **June 1st**. My parents are working on getting her private insurance, but it comes with a much higher out-of-pocket cost. Any medical visits, tests, or treatments after May 31st will be significantly more expensive.

In search of answers, Paige is now being referred to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota—one of the best places to find help when others can’t provide a diagnosis. Unfortunately, Medicaid has already denied coverage for her visit to Mayo, which means even if she stays on Medicaid, **this visit will be entirely out of pocket**.
