Adventure Awaits

After 38 years of teaching, I had a series of health challenges beginning a year ago with a TIA (mini stroke).  It left me with seizures and cognitive difficulties.  I went on to have a heart surgery to correct the issue that lead to the TIA. 

Eventually, due to the physical and emotional stress of the spring, I developed Ménière’s disease. Meniere's Disease is a vestibular disorder.  It affects my balance, vision and hearing.  It leaves me in a state of "bone crushing" fatigue several times a month.  Ultimately I will lose my hearing.  There are several treatments, one of which left me in a pool of blood in the shower in August.  Right now I am barely managing without the help of presciptions or surgery.

Meniere's Disease prohibits me from my lifelong passion of educating the leaders of tomorrow.  This disease progresses very rapidly, so my dream of traveling in my retirement years cannot wait.    

My desire is to spend a few weeks in Scotland exploring the land of my ancestors.  I hope to go for during the summer of either 2018 or 2019.
