Paige Dougall Funeral Costs and Charity Start-Up

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear Paige last night. For those of you who knew her, Paige was so full of life and joy - she always left an imprint wherever she went. As a family we are asking for any donations to be put towards Paige’s funeral so we can give her the send off she deserves.
Any money that will exceed the funeral costs will be used to fund Paige’s final wish - a charity in her name, dedicated to making music therapy accessible across hospitals to help other young people battling cancer.

Paige was sadly diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma shortly after her 15th birthday in 2019. Leading up to her diagnosis, Paige experienced a lot of pain which ended in many hospital trips and eventually led to the discovery of her cancer.
Ewing’s Sarcoma is a rare type of cancer which affects bones or the tissue around bones. It mainly affects children and young people however, it can also be found in adults.
Paige fought bravely with the support of her mum (Michelle), her dad (Craig), her big brother & best-friend (Logan), step-dad (Kevin), step-mum (Lauren) and other family. Our little warrior entered remission in July 2020, just in time for her 16th birthday.
Unfortunately, Paige relapsed in February 2021 after scans revealed the metastatic cancer had come back quickly and aggressively, posing an even bigger threat than before. Since then, we knew her chances were bleak however, Paige fought courageously with a smile on her face and never gave up.
Beginning of December, new scans sadly showed substantial cancer growth, further limiting our time with her. Paige has faced every challenge imaginable and she never stopped radiating positivity. She was treated in the Royal Infirmary for Sick Kids Edinburgh, landing in the ICU several times. She was recently in Victoria Hospice Kirkcaldy for a short while, but nearing Christmas she had enough strength to get home and spend the rest of her time surrounded by family until she passed peacefully with her mum by her side.

Paige was an incredibly joyous person whose laughter was contagious, she had an intense love for music and strong passion for helping other people through her own journey.
In doing so, she wrote several songs which she uploaded to YouTube about the struggles of having cancer, hoping to reach an audience that could sympathise with her situation and find comfort in her words. Her music gained a lot of attention, which resulted in her opportunity of recording one of her songs with pop-star Ella Henderson.
Paige had a brilliant time in London recording her song, everyone was proud of what she had accomplished in the face of her battle and Paige herself was bursting to share the recording to help raise awareness surrounding cancer in young people.
A massive thanks to the incredible Callum Beattie and David Rogers who helped Paige’s dreams come true when they officially produced her song and made it available to purchase on various streaming platforms. Paige made the UK Big Top 40 and reached top 5 on iTunes with her own song “I’m Going Through Hell”, she wanted all proceedings to go to charity, constantly thinking about ways to help other people.

Paige’s final wishes were for us to set up a charity in her name, which offers music therapy and lessons to other young people battling cancer. She found that music was such a release in her journey and believed that others may benefit from access to instruments and lesson through hospitals, where patients can express thoughts and feelings in their own way. Money raised here will aid us in the start-up of her charity, which we hope will help many children and young people and their families across Scotland.

“On behalf of the family, it's with greatest sadness that our Beautiful Warrior Paige has passed while at home where she belonged with family. Paige has managed to help others all the way while facing her own life threatening battle and all with her beautiful smile. Paige has left an imprint on everyone she meets and touched so many hearts. If you were lucky enough to meet Paige you knew she was special from the first moment she walked in the room. We would like to thank Ella Henderson, Callum Beattie, David Rodgers and Polly Bartlett and all the doctors and nurses at the sick kids in Edinburgh who helped make Paige's life that bit extra special and also fell in love with our beautiful selfless warrior. Until we meet again, fly high ❤️❤️” - Kevin.

We have a few final words from her fiancé and closest friends which portray Paige as the light that she was:

“The pain I feel right now is worse than anything I’ve ever experienced. Paige truly is the best part of me, she is so kind and warm and one of the funniest people I have ever met. She lit up every room she ever entered and not a single person that she met didn’t fall completely in love with her. Even while she was suffering so much, Paige’s first thought was always for the people around her. She has meant everything to me for the last 3 years and will continue to for the rest of my life. I have no idea what my life looks like without you in it Dougall. I will never love anyone or anything as much as I Love You.” - Cameron ❤️

“Paige Dougall is the most loyal, kind and funniest person I have ever met. She always saw the good in people and I have never met anyone who loves their family and friends as much as Paige does. Paige had a laugh that was contagious and it only took one of her smiles to light up a whole room. Paige has always been there for me, I loved her like a sister. I just wish with all my heart that we could have had more time together.” - Hayley.

“Paige was the most amazing girl I have ever met. The strongest and most resilient but also the most loving and caring. Throughout the entire time I have known her, and especially through her treatment she put every person before herself. She was selfless, and every day I thought myself lucky to have been able to call her my best friend. She made me into the person I am today, and I’ll never forget everything she did for me. I love you Paige <3” - Bryony.

“Paige was a beautiful person. to be around her was like a breath of fresh air , she never failed to make me laugh or smile when I needed it most. she put her heart and soul into everything she did and loved with every bone in her body. Paige was the kind of person you meet once in a life time, and I feel so unbelievably lucky that I got to be one of her best friends. She was so kind hearted and gentle. She inspired me and l will forever be grateful for the time I had with her, I will always love you Paige” - Brooke.

“Paige and I were have known each other for nine short years and she filled every single one of them with light and laughter. Even when we fought we found our way back to one and other. I loved her with all my heart and she loved me. I will cherish that for the rest of my life.❤️” - Becca.

“You were one heck of a character Paige. I’ll miss the nights you’d barge through to Logan’s room asking me to paint your nails or help you pick an outfit at 11pm. Time spent with the three of us was so special, my two best-friends who would always support me through anything. Logan and I will miss you forever, you changed my life completely <3” - Domi.
