Hi, I’m Ros Archer and I’m raising funds so that I can take an MBA for a year. I’ve been offered a place at the Institut d’Etudes Supérieurs des Arts in Paris.
2 years ago I became gravely ill but was lucky to have good care from excellent doctors, so within a few months my health was much improved. But I now have to live with 2 auto immune diseases - Vasculitis vasculitis & Sjogren’s Syndrome sjogren's syndrome as well as Osteoporosis.
This means life long medication and taking good care of myself, and it’s also no longer possible to do the demanding work that provided my income for the last few years.
I have a long history of work in the Arts and now want to train in Arts management. This can qualify me for work that’s within my physical capacity, and also bring financial stability. The MBA course is ideal as it expands and updates my existing skills and brings me contacts. I’ll be looking for work for the following year, October, 2017 onwards.
I’ve applied for several scholarships and bursaries, but the University that’s offered me the place is private, so it doesn’t fit the eligibility parameters.
I’m aiming to raise 27,000 Euros. The course costs 11,500 and I’ve budgeted 15,500 to live in Paris during the year. I’ve been lucky to be offered a place to live in exchange for cat sitting for a busy, traveling lady, but of course I’ll have to contribute to the household and have enough money to take care of myself.
I also want to bring awareness to the two autoimmune disorders that I knew nothing about before I became ill. So being in a good job with a good income would help me with my own care, and also allow me to create support and awareness groups for others who suffer similar little known diseases. It’s an important part of sharing the help I’ve been given.
I’d be thrilled if you can support this new phase of my life and work. The course starts in September and in order to register I need 2,500 Euro by the middle of August. The balance of 9000 Euro has to be paid by mid-September.
Rewards I would like to offer my expertise and knowledge of Art, Antiques, Food & Wine, Markets with my fluency in French to give your visit to Paris more depth and adventure.
