PADRE'S FIGHT

My name is Megan Snook [ daughter]. I'm writing about my father, Brett. Back in February dad noticed a small lump on the side of his head. The lump noticeably got bigger in size but COVID 19 came. In July finally made an appt with dermatologist which was scheduled two months out. Dad got lump lanced mid September & sent out for a biopsy, a week later September 18th we went back to Dermatologist for results. Doctor said what he cut out was malignant and had metastasized from somewhere else in his body. Walking out of that doctor with my father in disbelief, we scheduled an ONCOLOGY appt right away! September 28th we met with oncologist, my father of course needed more tests, ct pet scan, MRI, CAT scan , blood work to find out more infinite answers. September 29th we found out that my father had stage 4 lung cancer and it metastasized to his brain [ 7 plus tumors] . My father's brain was swelling that much that his face was starting to droop and he was slurring his speech. Radiologist said we needed to start radiation immediately to try and shrink tumors. He started radiation Oct 1, he was told at the appt he could no longer work or drive because of the severity of his condition. Today my father has his last radiation of the brain [ 10 treatments] October 12th we found out after having an endoscopy to biopsy the lung that he has adenocarcinoma. My dad will start chemo next week , 1X every 3 weeks, indefinitely or until he quits.
This cancer at its stage and advancement is incurable and inoperable. My father is way too prideful to ask for help through this journey, so I am. Any little bit will help him keep fighting and obviously pay medical bills. Above all else, I kindly ask that you pray for my Padre. May sound selfish but I'm not ready to lose my 54 yr old father yet.
God bless you all. ❤
