Pathmanapan Govindasamy was a dedicated and very friendly colleague of ours. He passed away in a fatal car accident on 2nd October. He is survived by his wife, Sabarmathi Kabilan and a 2 month old infant baby girl. Fondly called as Padhu by friends, he had overcome many struggles to achieve success in life. Coming from a humble background, his family and him depended on fishing to survive and meet expenses. He lost all his livelihood in the Tsunami that struck Tamil Nadu and destroyed his community and himself barely escaped death. He overcame hardships and completed his education through scholarships provided by NGOs due to excellence in academics. His dream of having a better life came true after he graduated from GCT Coimbatore and landed a job in TCS. Being the first graduate in his entire village, he worked hard to provide for a better life for them and has long been a sole bread-winner for his entire family. His family looked up to him for any moral and financial support. He had proved to be a hardworking resource and performed excellently in his job. He met with a gruesome death while travelling from his native village, Tharangampadi (Nagapattinam), to Puducherry. His vehicle collided head on with an State-owned bus. The accident is believed to be caused because of a barricade placed on the road. He got married 2 years back and is now survived by his wife, Sabarmathi Kabilan and 2 month old infant baby girl. Please keep his family and him in your prayers and contribute, if you can, towards any monetary support that would go to his dependent wife and infant baby girl.
