Georgia Southern Paddy Murphy 2016

The Georgia Alpha chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon is proud to sponsor Reid Underwood. Reid is only a year and half old, but he has experienced more suffering than any person should in a lifetime. He suffers from a rare and degenerative skin disease, Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB). This a horrible skin disease that leaves the skin of the individual as fragile as the wings of a butterfly because of the absence of a critical protein that holds the skin together. Even the simplest of activities, like riding in a car-seat or bouncing him on your knee, could tear away at Reid's skin. Words cannot do justice in describing the effects of this complex and devastating disease.

The money that we raise will be dedicated to the research of Dr. Jakub Tolar, who is working to find a cure for RDEB. I cannot think of a more deserving family than the Underwoods and any contribution would be greatly appreciated. Reid is so brave, but he and his family need our support.
