The person we are remembering this year is Dennis "PorkChop" Hamm, a Jefferson FD and EMT volunteer.
We will be paddling 26 miles from UNCERTAIN, TX to MOORINGSPORT, LA.
WHEN: THURSDAY FEBRUARY 27th at 8:00 AM.
WHERE: JOHNSON RANCH MARINA (Launch Point)
5131 Cypress Dr E, Karnack, TX 75661
JOIN US IF YOU CAN.
We will be giving updates during the day of the event.
For every $2,000 raised, this allows RAC and CISM to provide a training class for volunteers to be on-call and ready to assist the EMS community with psychological first aid.
Critical Incident Stress Management Team
CISM is an intervention protocol developed specifically for dealing with traumatic events. It is a formal, structured, and professionally recognized process for helping those involved in a critical incident to share their experiences, vent emotions, learn about stress reactions and symptoms, and give referral information for further help if needed. It is not psychotherapy. It is a confidential, voluntary, and educative process – sometimes called psychological first aid. CISM is peer-driven.
Your DETRAC team consists of firefighters, emergency medical personnel, law enforcement, nurses, clergy, and mental health professionals who have been formally trained on their own time and volunteer to help on their own.
We serve the EMS community by trying to help people have a voice...
