Just a grandad getting a selfie with his granddaughter.
Something thousands of grandparents do every day without a second thought.
But sometimes that photo isn’t taken in a warm, cosy lounge with children’s TV on in the background. Sometimes it’s taken in a hospital, surrounded by wires, tubes, and all the things you hope will never become a reality for you or your loved ones.
This is proud grandad Andy Reeson with his granddaughter Daisy. Life isn’t going as planned for Daisy right now, and she has spent far more time in hospital than any child ever should. But despite everything, she still greets the world with big smiles and boundless love – even while she is poorly.
This fundraiser isn’t for Daisy herself, but for the incredible teams who support her every single day: the charity PACT House and Sheffield Children’s Hospital Ward 6, where Daisy has spent many months. Without these organisations, life would be impossible. Their care and compassion are an essential part of everyday life for Daisy and her family.
To raise money for these amazing causes, Andy and his son Liam are taking on a huge challenge: a 24-hour continuous bowling marathon. Over the course of a full day and night, they’ll play nonstop against various pairs from across the county, including matches against some of the world’s best players, all in support of PACT House and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Please donate if you can, and help support other children, parents, and grandparents like the Reeson family who have to endure long, challenging hospital stays.
