Welcome to the AWFY Club's Annual Fundraiser page! Thank you in advance for taking the time to learn about this cause that is very important to us.

Before you donate, we'd like to tell you a little about the ArtWorks for Youth Program:

The mission of ArtWorks for Youth is to provide visual art instruction, academic support, and mentoring to students in the Joe Slovo Township, South Africa.

What does this have to do with us here at The Packer Collegiate Institute?

Each spring break, Packer students travel to Joe Slovo to work alongside students in the ArtWorks for Youth Program. If you take a look at the picture above, you can see Quamokuhle, Tebogo, Christof, and Ashley; all of whom were a part of this year's program.

And what exactly is the AWFY Club?

Packer’s AWFY Club was founded in 2014 by students who had recently returned from the trip and wanted to continue to build upon their experience. The mission of the AWFY Club is to meaningfully engage with others while finding ways to enrich our communities with the resources we have available to us.

We also work to provide financial support to the ArtWorks Program through fundraising initiatives we do throughout the school year.

What is the the current fundraiser for?:

Right now, ArtWorks for Youth is in the process of building a brand new school to house their program!!! Check out these sweet blueprints:

Why is this school so important?

Many of the students we get to know as part of our Spring Break partnership - unfortunately - do not get the education that they deserve. You can hear about a few of the issues that exist from our friend Yamkela:

To help address these issues, ArtWorks is going to build a school where students will have the resources they need to achieve success.

Packer's AWFY club is holding this fundraiser with the goal of raising $10,000 to go towards seeing this project come to fruition.
