This GoFundMe is to help benefit our Scouts in Cub Scout Pack 549 Verona, WI.
Our youth need your support. The past 6 months have been filled with uncertainty and now our Cub Scout Pack is struggling with new challenges to continue to provide outstanding leadership training through scouting to the youth in the Verona, WI community.
Pack 549 is a Cub Scout Pack for boys and girls in Verona, Wisconsin. Our Pack (a large group) has always met once a month during the school year at Glacier Edge Elementary School for fun and educational activities, such as preparing personalized packages at Thanksgiving time to send to our Military Troops oversees. We also have den meetings (small groups divided by grade) that meet a few times a month to instill a love and respect for our Verona community through meeting with local firefighters and other community leaders.
In addition to these meetings, our Pack participates in several other activities. Some examples of things we have done over the years are sleepovers in a WWII submarine, the National Mississippi River Museum/Aquarium, and Lambeau Field, tubing at Cascade Mountain, a day trip to the EAA museum in Oshkosh, day and overnight camps, and Pinewood Derby races. There are also opportunities for Scouts to help our community such as an annual Scouting For Food drive.
All these fun and educational activities require funding. In the past we have relied solely on our fall popcorn sales to help fund our scouts' adventures. Due to the pandemic, the scouts will not be out at local storefronts or going door to door to sell popcorn for the safety of our community. This creates a new challenge to find ways to raise money to support our Scouting program.
