My daughter is making a bid for worlds, here is her story :
Hi! My name is Pacha Light and I am a 15 year-old surfer from Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Last December I qualified for the Australian Team in the ISA World Junior surf titles to be held in the Azores Islands in Portugal this September. Portugal is a long way from Australia and I’m looking for some help to get there! I’ve been saving my busking money, part time work and am getting some help from my sponsors to aim to raise half the funds needed.
Can you help me get the rest together?
I will be posting about the travels through Instagram (@pachalight), Facebook (Pacha Light)
and also a snapchat (pacha.light) where you can travel with me and I'll be able to keep you notified about wherever and whenever I go!
For the biggest donor, I will also offer a personalised surf session - a meet, greet and surf! (but you’ll have to get to the Gold Coast though - or maybe Hossegor in France!).
My surfing story began only a few years ago when one of the world’s best female surfers, Laura Enever, gave me a surfboard after seeing me busk at the Roxy Pro, Gold Coast. (https://youtu.be/2jK4KHR5bCM)From that point I spent every chance I could in the ocean! Surfing makes me forget whatever is bothering me, I feel refreshed and lighter when I surf. It seriously is the best thing in the world!
Given this amazing opportunity to travel, I also want to make the most of it by staying on in France for a month as part of a Boardriders Club surfer exchange in Hossegor. Any extra funds will go towards my bid for the world qualifying series next year.
