Neil's unborn son Dominic King
Donation protected
I am setting up this GoFundMe account for my cousin Neil and his wife Cynthia. My cousin passed away on Saturday morning, at 9:51 a.m., following complications from a torn Aorta. He gave it his all, enduring a 15 hour surgery Thursday night into Friday. He continued to have complications and the Surgeons went back for another two hour surgery. Unfortunately, they could not control his internal bleeding and there was nothing else that they could do.
I want to back up a little and tell you about this incredible man, who was loved so very much. Neil was a gentle giant, a big teddy bear only 27 years old. He had an enormous heart and would do anything for anyone. He was the type of person that you could meet and instantly click with, leaving you feeling like you have known him forever. He is my cousin by marriage, my husband’s first cousin. He was like a little brother to me, he lived with us during his teenage years which solidified the bond I had with him. Neil was the funniest person I have ever met. He could make anyone laugh and cheer up, as he often did for me.
Neil has a beautiful daughter named Jade, 4 years old, who is basically his female version. She loves her daddy like no other. Neil has worked and supported his daughter since she was small. He was able to spend summers with her. She was visiting when this tragedy took place.
Most recently, he met the love of his life Cynthia. I have to say they complimented each other. She has a daughter, Eli who is 7 years old. Neil and Cynthia were married last September. From the moment they met Eli loved Neil, and he was her Daddy. From that point on, he had two daughters. These girls are sisters thru and thru. Even fighting over their daddy at times.
Cynthia and Neil were blessed and surprised to find out that they were having their first child together 6 months ago. They are having the little boy they both wanted, Dominic King Wedderburn. I have never seen Neil so excited, anxious and proud before. This has been all he talked about for months. He could not wait to buy his son his first pair of Jordan sneakers. All who know Neil, know how much of a sneaker fanatic he is.
Cynthia has been having complications with her pregnancy and has been on bed rest for a couple of months, leaving Neil to be the only one working to support his family. Being that they were just starting their life together they have no savings, and now no income at all. Neil was never one to ask anyone for anything, or burden anyone. This is a complete shock to the entire family, especially his wife. She is just beginning the process of grieving a man who was taken so soon from her, they were not even married one year. The family is coming together to support her and the kids, but we cannot do it alone.
I am asking for any help for Cynthia, the girls and the unborn baby boy. Please find it in your heart to help out in any way possible. All help is greatly appreciated for this family. This is a tragedy that no pregnant woman should have to endure. She was under so much stress and anxiety that she was also brought to the emergency room yesterday because she began to feel cramping. Thankfully she was fine, but dehydrated.
Cynthia made the decision to have Neil buried in New York, close to his parents, in the city that he loved so very much. This was a selfless decision for Cynthia because she lives in Waterbury Connecticut. We do not know exactly how much the cost will be to move him to New York and give him a proper funeral at this point. Neil is a gentle giant and will need a larger casket than normal. We have to get a plot as well. This is all unchartered territory for us, but we know that money has to be paid in advance. In addition to that we would like to use any money left over for Cynthia to be able to continue to live in her apartment and have a home for the children.
We appreciate all the help in advance and as soon as we have the funeral information, I will add it here for those who may want to pay their final respects to an amazing Son, brother, Father, Husband, Nephew, Cousin, and Friend. I never imagined that we lose such an important member of our family so soon. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to endure. We can only imagine how Cynthia feels.
Please help and share, share, share.
