We are all SO excited that Madeline Jessica, MJ or Maddy to many, has finally been given a date for her bottom surgery! Now, we have five months to secure enough funds to pay the copays and allow us flexibility through her recovery. That's where, we hope, YOU come in!

Maddy first began living as herself in February of 2021. She's been on an incredible journey since, building friendships and making connections and finding ways to embrace life. She's discovered new passions and joys, and she works tirelessly at finding ways to give the best of herself to those around her.

It's been a difficult path. The way the mood of the U.S. has shifted in the past two years has been terrifying for us all. Living in a state like Iowa, where a flurry of new laws has made LGBTQ+ existence perilous, it can be next to impossible to maintain anything resembling hope. Getting an appointment scheduled for surgery before the next legislative session is an invaluable blessing.

Maddy is the most vivacious woman you will ever meet. She is beautiful, gracious and full of fire. She and all of us who love her are giddy with anticipation of what the future might hold as she is allowed to blossom!

We hope to raise enough money that she can recuperate without worry—six months of truly being allowed to rest and heal. She has spent so long balancing on the precarious edge of life, and she deserves this time to simply be. Money raised will go toward medical bills, childcare, food and mortgage payments, with any remaining going toward necessary household repairs that will make her healing time more effective. We are all so grateful for your support!
