On behalf of the volleyball community and friends and family of Edwin Fernandez, I have decided to create this effort to raise funds for the continued rehab of our great friend. For the last 3 years, Edwin has carried the immense weight of all costs related to his recovery. 

While having a Cuban coffee at one of his favorite spots, I learned the magnitude of the yearly cost of treatments and the economic pressure it creates. Due to his condition a private session with a certified tech cost between $150 - $200 per hour. To maintain his progress several private lesson occur on a weekly basis. The more comprehensive programs are often out of state and are between 1-2 weeks in length. The out of pocket expense including travel for any of this fluctuate between 10K - 20K.

Many of us just like me have asked him how can we help. Our friend is consistent and always responds with the typical "Thanks; but I got it" This time it was no different but after furthering our discussion he agreed with the idea of the fund.

Now that we have the opportunity to give back to the person who has always given so much, lets come together, pass the word and give whatever you can to allow this amazing warrior to continue his recovery and one day ride his bike into the sunset. Charlie Vizoso
