It all started about 5 years ago.....I was out hiking with my new pup. He wasn't on the leash and he came barreling down the hill and somehow we got entangled with the leash. As he rushed by me, I looked down and saw that my left foot was turned around backwards. YIKES
I have no idea how I made it down the hill back to my truck.
My dear friend Connie, who is an acupuncture healer and an amazing person, came to my assistance and took care of me for a while, as I got better. I was unable to work for about 3 weeks.
It seemed like I had recovered very quickly..and I have always been pretty strong and able to recover.
I should mention that my livelihood has been in the restaurant and catering biz.
Being able to be on your feet is necessary.
Fast forward a couple years, and that same left foot blew up and I was unable to work for more than a month .
I went to the local clinic where they gave me shots, took pics of my legs and feet. ARG
The cost of that treatment was $400 + $40 One of the doctors there said that if I were to have ANY problems with my foot blowing up again that I should go Immediately to Emergency and said I could lose my foot (I believe that was overstated.)
I went back to work as soon as I could and because I was back at work, I was able to pay off that medical bill in installments.
BUT I STILL wasn't done.
I ended up going back to the Emergency Room TWO more times
The bill I have from those Emergency visits came to more than $1800.
And I have been out of work since the Covid Virus started and my restaurant
shut down and is still not back to normalcy.
I did get some unemployment money which has been a godsend....but I think that is almost at the end.
I have Medicare Part A, but not Part B...my neighbor is helping me to apply for Medical-Cal which I am eligible to receive.
I would really like to be able to get my Emergency visits paid for because I am at the precipice.
I so appreciate any help that I receive.
And if I were to get more than what I am asking for....the rest of what I get would go to CLAM.org who have helped so many in my community of West Marin
Thank You for taking the time to read my story!
