Shelly Dixon is a Singer/Songwriter, fortunate enough to be part of the Midwest and Fort Wayne Music Scene for over two decades. As the Shelly Dixon Band, they released an album, “Drive”, in 2001 with some songs getting radio and TV play. In recent times she’s been performing as an acoustic duo with various amazing guitar and keyboard players. Through the years and the changes Shelly has played hundreds of venues, festivals and events. She put a talented band together for Down The Line 14 at The Embassy Theatre, covering Fleetwood Mac. She was invited to be part of the Summer Nights Series as well. Shelly loves performing at Solfest, a fundraiser for Fox Island and Matea County Parks, and she’s been a part of it since it began. She has also been part of Rock The Plaza, both as a duo and as a full band. With a multi-faceted setlist of both covers and originals, Shelly loves to connect with her audience. Music is a big part of the heart of our city and Shelly loves to share in it.
Forward to April 2025. Shelly found multiple enlarged lymph nodes in her neck. Ct Scans also found multiple enlarged lymph nodes in the chest cavity. Biopsy of a lymph node and PET scans showed stage 2A Hodgkin Lymphoma. She caught her cancer early although it’s aggressive. An aggressive treatment offers 91% chance of remission…IF she takes chemo/immunotherapy, then possibly radiation. In addition to oncology medicine, there are many alternatives, remedies, supplements, regimens, ocean swims, foods, etc that help to kill cancer while strengthening the body’s natural defenses. Especially to overcome the horrible side effects of chemo. Insurance doesn’t pay for any of this type of alternative healing medicine. Shelly has been dealing with Fibromyalgia for many years. That pain on top of chemo pain has been hard to take. Pain management has become key to successful treatment plan. Shelly cannot work or drive. Healthy food is key to healing. If you can and want to donate, Shelly can get what she needs at her favorite Natural Food Grocery Co-op, health food store, grocery store, or online. Hyperbaric oxygen chamber and red light therapy are suggested and available in Fort Wayne. Please consider donating to help Shelly heal and thrive!
