As you may know, I have been accepted into The International Lyric Academy Summer Program 2015 in Rome and Viterbo, Italy. The Academy affords the opportunity to advance my vocal studies in opera performance, and to participate in their opera production of SUOR ANGELICA in the role of Suora Infermiera. 

 

Applying for the Program was a long shot for me, as it is my first attempt, ever, towards pursuing an ultimate goal in the field of Music Vocal Performance.  By the grace of God, I made it, though.  Being accepted is a great honor and privilege; and, to be able to physically participate in the master classes, workshops, private studio lessons, and to perform opera in the birth country of Opera is even of greater esteem, and I cannot thank God enough for opening up this chance for me.

 

I am taking the liberty, therefore, to seek financial help and support from my families, friends, and allies in the Performing Arts, to enable me to participate and experience this rare and wonderful training opportunity towards becoming an Opera Singer. The money raised will go towards my tuition, room and board, and partial airfare.  Whatever you can spare will be gratefully accepted and appreciated.

By the way, I currently work in the San Bernardino Unified School District as a Substitute Teacher, and I direct the Richardson PREP HI Middle School Choir as part of their afterschool set courses with CAPS.  I also coach vocals for the San Bernardino Teen Music Workshop Program which has allowed teen musicians to perform at Disneyland’s California Adventures and at other public arenas – a great exposure for their young talents.

 

I graduated from the California State University of San Bernardino (CSUSB) in 2011 with the Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in Music - Vocal Performance and Composition; but, as you can see, my line of work has been in education, teaching music to junior and senior high school youth.  My unwavering passion for music and vocal performance drives me to seek opportunities to develop and preserve God’s gifts to me, so that I may continue to serve Him through Education and the Performing Arts.
