Edinburgh Fringe Fundraiser

Who I am:

Hello! My name's Edmund and I am the writer of the new pitch-black, comic thriller The Grim.

The project:

The show is the follow-up to my award-winning debut You're Dead, Mate which premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022 and I am delighted to announce that The Grim will be taking the same trip up to Scotland this summer! We will be running at Underbelly Bristo Square, right in the beating heart of the city, and I for one am so excited to see this show take flight at the greatest arts festival in the world.

The challenge:

Despite myself and my team digging into our own pockets and raising money via rehearsed readings and previews, there are still substantial costs that need to be covered in order for this show to make it to the Fringe.

Venue fees, marketing expenditure, and travel and accommodation costs all rack up, meaning artists have to do their best to find money from alternative sources, such as crowdfunding. This is where you come in!

The ask:

We are asking anyone that shares our passion for original, groundbreaking theatre to donate what they can to help us get our show on the road! The support of friends, family and those far and wide that believe in the power of live theatre is what makes shows like ours possible, and any money you can spare will honestly make a world of difference to our cause.

The offer:

We are offering everyone that donates to this production a selection of rewards for their patronage, ensuring that anyone who makes a contribution is given back a piece of our show in return. Here's how it works:

A donation of any sum will receive a filmed version of the show from our run in Edinburgh. The world premiere of The Grim will be all yours, to watch and re-watch to your heart's content.

A donation of £50 will receive, along with a filmed version of the show, a signed poster from our wonderful cast, and you will be named in our Fringe program as a supporter of the show.

A donation of £100 will receive all of the above plus a heartwarming video message from the cast thanking you for your help and a set of signed character shots from the show.

and finally...

A donation of £250 or more will receive every reward we have on offer plus a credit as a producer of the show. That's right. Your name and/or your brand, printed in indelible ink for all to see, in our programs and on our socials, shouted from the rooftops and on the lips of everyone on the streets of Edinburgh as official backers of The Grim.

We really appreciate you taking the time to read this. Life is chaotic, so finding a spare minute to read our appeal really does mean a lot to us. We've been working tirelessly to get everything ready for the Fringe, and we know we have something really special on our hands, but it won't be without the help of you, that we manage to get this show on the road.
