Jack’s Recovery Journey

On October 21st, our little Jack slipped away from us in a matter of seconds — something every parent fears and prays never happens. We did everything on our end to keep him safe, but our housing management didn’t follow through with the extra locks and safety measures we asked for. That gap ended up being the difference that changed our whole world.

Jack suffered a traumatic head injury and had to go into emergency surgery where doctors removed part of his skull to relieve pressure. They won’t be able to put that bone flap back for at least six weeks, and only when they feel it’s safe. Until then, he’ll be wearing his helmet everywhere he goes.

He also had to get a skin graft, and by God’s grace, that surgery went well. We’re watching it closely and praying over his healing every single day.

Even with all he’s been through, Jack is improving daily. He’s fighting. He’s showing strength that only God could have placed inside him. We can truly see God’s hand over his life — from the moment of the accident to every miracle we’ve witnessed since.

We’ll be taking Jack to Brooks Rehabilitation in Jacksonville for intensive inpatient therapy so he can continue this healing journey surrounded by the best care possible.
