Hi, my name is Justin Gillespie. I'm from Chicago, and most likely if you've arrived at this page, you know how much I love running and sharing my running journey. I've been running since I was a kid, and 10 years ago this year, I decided to make it a lifestyle. More recently, after running the Chicago, Berlin, and London Marathons this past spring, I've made it a goal to complete the 6 World Major Marathons. I've been given the privilege to run the Tokyo Marathon as a charity runner in March 2026. The Tokyo Marathon is one of the hardest marathons to get into due to its popularity, and the charity route is an option I chose for this adventure. In this case, you agree to a donation and submit that to the charity of your choice.
I'm launching this fundraiser to raise funds for my donation to Ronald McDonald House Japan, which will go towards helping children fighting against illness and their families. There are 3 main projects that they support:
01. Establishment and operation of accommodation facilities for families accompanying their children for medical treatment.
02. Activities to raise awareness and advocate volunteering to support sick children and their families, and training of volunteers.
03. The Share Heart for Sick Kids Project that aims to improve the quality of life of hospitalized and outpatient children, bringing smiles to the faces of sick children.
My hope is that my donation helps to give these children some joy during a tough time in there lives and accommodate their families during what can be a stressful time. The goal is to raise $2,000, and any donated funds (big or small) would be great. Whether $5 or $50, your support would make a difference. Thank you so much!
