On behalf of Rolly Salinas we are asking for donations to help him and his family with his battle of brain cancer.
On May 18,2014, 56 year old Rolly had a seizure while driving to visit his daughters in Roseville. His wife and our sister, Irma, took over the steering wheel and saved their lives. Rolly was taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital where the doctors thought he had a parasite in his brain. Two and a half months later Rollys family doctor referred him to Standford Hospital. He was then diagnosed with Glioblastoma and on August 4,2014 he underwent brain surgery. He had some complications, including a stroke which caused a problem with his speech. Rolly was hospitalized for a month and he lost over 35lbs. In September 2014 he started radiation and he continues to do chemo therapy. After more surgeries Rolly's memory improved and he started to be himself again.
As we sit here, we wonder how can such a loving and wonderful person be so sick and yet be so strong. Sadly, the MRI yesterday showed that his cancer has progressed. Standford doctors said there is not much more they can do. Our sister Irma refuses to give up and called UCSF to see if he is a candidate for new trial medications.
Rolly is eager to visit his family in Texas but his wife Irma had to return to her teaching job so she can pay into their health insurance. We signed him up for "gofundme" to collect enough money so his wife can take time off work, pay for medical expenses, and to travel with his family.
Rolly and Irma will be celebrating 35 years of marriage on June 18, 2015. They have two beautiful daughters Deandra and Alissa. They just became grandparents of a new baby girl named Camille. Rolly is a devoted catholic, hard working carpenter and he rebuilt his ranch known as "Salinas Ranch." He is a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, godfather and friend who deserves his wish to come true. Thank you in advance for making this possible with your donations. God Bless you all.
