Hi, our names are Jasmine and Angela, Terrance’s little sisters.
We’re reaching out to help support our amazing brother Terry, his beautiful wife and children.
Our world turned upside down on the 4th December 2022 whilst holidaying in Sydney, Terry suffered a series of seizures which then lead to a diagnosis of a brain tumour. Then 3 days later was having emergency craniotomy surgery to remove a brain tumour. He recovered well proving to everyone and himself how determined and strong he was. Getting a promotion in the February, a goal of his and returning to work. Terry, his wife Kristin and beautiful children Scarlett and William found a new love of bush walks and spent many weekends finding new trails and soaking up precious family time. Terry was back to seeing some of his favourite bands and life seemed a little normal again.
Devastatingly at the end of June 2023 Terry start to feel unwell with more pain and Kristin took him to emergency to be checked out and was given the awful news that a whole new tumour had grown requiring another emergency craniotomy to try to remove this new one, giving Terry a diagnosis of the most aggressive form of brain cancer stage 4 Glioblastoma. After 2 days in hospital he was back at home spending quality and precious time with his whole family. This time he required 30 rounds of radiation and 6 months chemotherapy which has had devastating side effects and has meant Terry hasn’t been able to return to work since June 2023. The last round of chemotherapy finished February 2024 and we were so hopefully he would have stable MRI’s and a bright future at home with his family.
On Monday 26th February after excruciating back and leg pain Terry received even more devastating news in a rare case that his glioblastoma has travelled down into his spinal cord and now has 5 tumours on his spine.
Terry tried his absolute hardest to fight this and did an incredible job. Sadly he is reaching the end of his journey and is in palliative care.
We just want to do whatever we can to help Kristin and his kids get through this and for them to have all the time they need. Our hearts are completely shattered.
The last 15 months have been an absolute whirlwind of emotions, with Terry being on multiple medications, steroids, pain relief and of course chemotherapy. Nothing can prepare you to see what brain cancer looks like and seeing someone you love so dearly go through something so traumatic.
Times are tough financially for people so please only contribute what you can but feel free to share amongst your friends and family.
Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts.
Jasmine and Angela
