On Memorial Day of all days my daughter lost her life in a fatal car crash. She had been working 16 hour shifts and I believe she feel asleep behind the wheel. Zaniya Nevaeh Johnson was a hardworking mother working tirelessly to provide a decent life for her son.
She got off work at 3pm, made it to my home around 3:45pm to pick up her laundry and made it about 7 miles away before her life was tragically ended.
The fatal accident happened around 4:30pm but I didn't know anything until around 1am the next morning when her baby sitter called saying she haven't come to pick up her child , which was not her at all.
I immediately started reviewing the news and I saw the story of the 20 year old deceased female in a fatal crash on Woolworth rd.
I screamed because I knew it was her. I called the Caddo Sheriff the Shreveport Police and the Corner and they all brushed me off with no empathy and told me to wait until the next shift.
By the time I did track down information my daughter's body was already at the mortuary and I was told I couldn't see her until she was released to a funeral home. Desperate to see my daughter, I went with the first funeral home that answered and ended up with a bill over $10,000 to put my baby away.
A least expensive opportunity arose and now I have to pay $1,450 to have her body released.
The new company is $6,950 and the Cemetery expenses are $2,150.
Life insurance on a 20 year old was a thought that didn't cross my mind until it was needed.
My daughter lost her life trying to provide for her son and I'm seeking help with some burial expenses so that I can get her put away properly and focus on giving my grandson the life that his mother lost her life trying to provide.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as we have a long road ahead.
Thanks to Huntington Raider Jukebox for directing me on a more achievable path.
