Hi, my name is Lee and I’m fundraising for my cat, Dickie. I rescued Dickie six months ago after he’d had a difficult time as a feral cat. A lovely lady had been feeding him regularly for ten months after finding him injured. She had taken him to the vets who had neutered and vaccinated him under their feral cat policy, but ultimately the lady wasn’t in a position to take him in as she had two cats herself. I reached out to her from a Facebook post and offered to adopt him.

Since he’s been with me he has had several health issues crop up - from scary asthma attacks to allergies, and more recently a large mass on his lower stomach. I have been working with the vets to get him the care he needs for his asthma and allergies, including steroid treatment and a hypoallergenic diet. I have also been trying to save for potential immunotherapy if his new diet doesn’t solve his allergies. With these fees in mind, I am unable to cover the additional fees for the ultrasound and fine needle aspiration of his mass. The vets and I believe it is important to get to the bottom of what this mass is in order for him to live a long and healthy life. It is suspected that this mass is an old wound that was never treated while he was feral.

Dickie is the absolute light of my life. He has come so far - from the feral cat that was too scared to venture out of the living room to the loving boy who never leaves my side. He has brought me so much joy that I’m not quite sure who rescued who anymore. I am currently working two jobs to try and afford his care and our accommodation, but I’d be lying if I said this was enough for the fees that the vets are quoting me. For the ultrasound and FNA, they have quoted £540, not including the standard fee for each appointment which is £55.

I know Christmas is coming up and it is always a difficult time for people to donate. Please know there is no pressure to and I would hugely appreciate you sharing Dickie’s Gofundme instead.
