My name is Heather and I am 36 year old mom of 2 boys. After the birth of my second son I started getting really sick and no one knew why. After years of fighting I was finally diagnosed with Dysautonomia in 2018. In 2019 my health started taking a down hill slide. In 2021 I lost 68lbs and was diagnosed with Gastroparesis. By this time I had started developing vision issues, and haveing Non-epileptic seizures. In 2022 I ended up with a feeding tube as I can only eat 500 calories by mouth and drink 20oz of fluids. 2022 also brought to light some other issues such a Mast cell activation syndrome which causes me to break out in chronic hives, MALS which is a compression syndrome and Hypermobility EDS which at times I have to use a walker or wheelchair to get around. My would was flipped upside. I use to be active and adventurous but now I am stuck at home. For the past year my husband has been my caretaker and he is about return back to work. We are looking for a pup to train as my service dog. He will recognize my episodes and will comfort me. I also suffer from medical PTSD and he will be trained to help me during that as well. Chronic illness has taken my life, but this puppy will give me my life back.
