As many of you know, my dog passed away so suddenly and unexpectedly over Thanksgiving weekend. He was only four years old. To say we’re devastated is an understatement. He was diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) and suffered a rupture of two discs, which left him paralyzed in his back legs. The doctors informed us that he needed emergency surgery to prevent further trauma to his spine from causing irreversible damage to his spinal cord.

We decided to proceed with the surgery to give him a fighting chance, but despite our efforts, the surgery was not successful. Tragically, his condition progressed to myelomalacia, a fatal softening and deterioration of the spinal cord. This condition began to spread throughout his body, leaving us with no other option but to humanely put him to sleep.

The surgery and all his medical expenses amounted to a total of $10,000. While we are heartbroken, we are grateful for the love and support we’ve received during this incredibly difficult time.

Como muchos de ustedes saben, mi perrito falleció tan repentina y inesperadamente durante el fin de semana de Thanksgiving. Solo tenía cuatro años. Decir que estamos devastados es quedarse corto. Se le diagnosticó enfermedad del disco intervertebral (IVDD) y sufrió una ruptura de dos discos, que lo dejó paralizado en las patas traseras. Los médicos nos informaron que necesitaba una cirugía de emergencia para evitar que un trauma en su columna vertebral causara daños irreversibles en su médula espinal.

Decidimos proceder con la cirugía para darle la oportunidad de luchar, pero a pesar de nuestros esfuerzos, la cirugía no fue exitosa. Trágicamente, su condición progresó a mielomalacia, un ablandamiento fatal y deterioro de la médula espinal. Esta condición comenzó a extenderse por todo su cuerpo, dejándonos sin otra opción que ponerlo humanamente a dormir.

La cirugía y todos sus gastos médicos ascendieron a un total de 10.000 dólares. Aunque tenemos el corazón roto, estamos agradecidos por el amor y el apoyo que hemos recibido durante este momento increíblemente difícil.
